About the Event

Join us for this educational event with our special guest speaker Lorna Drivere-Davies, Head of Nutrition at Wild Nutrition.

Adolescent females are very often confused: they are neither large child or small adult and require highly specific nutritional considerations. In fact, adolescence continues till age 25.

Their needs are very often unappreciated and this is a special life phase characterised by rapid physical, mental and emotional development and growth.

Poor nutrition at this stage affects development at the present time but also sets up weakness and issues that can continue into their entire lifespan. Therefore here is an opportunity to strengthen our next generations. Lorna draws on not only her clinical practice but statistical data looking at adolescent nutrition.

Learning objectives:

  • A introduction and deeper understanding of this special life phase - what is happening on a biological level and social level
  • Statistical gaps
  • What to look for in early diagnosis in menstrual issues, especially when endometriosis or PCOS in adolescence is suspected.

Attendees will be entered into a prize draw. Prizes are as follows:

Gifted clinical mentoring for 1 person

3 sessions of mentoring for up to 1 hour each (remotely) with Lorna. Arrangement to be decided between practitioner and Lorna in terms of how best the structure can work. Mentoring to begin 2023.*

Product

3 lucky attendees (UK based delivery address only) will receive selected products from Wild Nutrition.

*Exclusions: Lorna will only mentor a qualified practitioner (no students) who has been qualified for at least 18 months and is in an active clinic (not retired/pausing/rarely working with clients etc). Lorna reserved the right to remove the mentoring offer if the practitioner does not fit these requirements.

Lorna Driver-Davies, Nutritional Therapist, Naturopathy and Functional Medicine. Head of Nutrition, Wild Nutrition

Lorna’s clinical focus for over a decade has been in women’s hormone and gynaecological health. With a strong focus on adolescent females. This has provided her with deep clinical experience that has enabled her to develop highly specific protocols and she has a genuine and heartfelt interest in helping young girls and women receive the best nutrition in those earlier years. Adolescent nutrition is by far in the shadows and misunderstood; and deserves greater attention especially when compared to nutrition for infants and children.

Lorna is also the nutrition speaker on Endometriosis for the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (an extension of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecology). She also regularly advises the media. Lorna contributed an evidence-based peer-reviewed case analysis chapter on nutrition for Endometriosis and hormone balance in the textbook ‘Case Studies in Personalized Nutrition’. A wealth of experience has gone into this chapter, making it a brilliant handbook for experienced and newly trained professionals.

Wild Nutrition is dedicated to supporting women’s health at all life stages, through using natural food-based non synthetic supplements and nutritional advice in consultations. Our co-founder Henrietta Norton formulated a multi vitamin and mineral product for adolescent girls. Specialist supplements for teens are very rare. This product was formulated in line with national nutrition statistics for nutrient gaps in adolescence in general and then specifically in females.

A 10-minute Q&A will take place at the end of the webinar when you will have an opportunity to ask specific questions following the presentation.
