ABOUT ME

I am a BANT/CNHC registered Nutritional Therapist, working in private practice covering Scarborough and the surrounding areas. I trained at the world renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London, graduating after 4 years with an advanced diploma in Nutritional Therapy. I have a passion for good food and strongly believe in the power of nutrition. I have a compassionate and non-judgemental manner, and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you to help you achieve your health goals.

Good nutrition is about understanding the nutrients your body needs in order to help it function to its optimum and learning how to include and enjoy them in your diet everyday - it is not about deprivation! My approach is based on the Functional Medicine Model (FMM). Achieving proper nutrition through natural wholesome foods is key, as are lifestyle factors such as exercise and rest. I understand that each individual is unique - this is key in devising a successful nutritional protocol, and the reason why what works for one person, may not work for another.

Training, qualifications & experience:
* Dip ION - Nutritional Therapy Diploma Course (Institute for Optimum Nutrition)
* British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT)
* Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

I am a full member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the national voluntary regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners, which only admits a select number of practitioners who have undergone an accredited programme of education. CNHC’s register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, an organisation accountable to Parliament, who help to protect the public by working with organisations that register and regulate people working in health and social care.
